What does it taste like?
It tastes green, because it is green. Fresh and lightly sweet, with raspberry and blueberry taking the edge off, and served cold it drinks like a juice rather than a shake. Most people tell us the first one tastes green and that by the third they had stopped noticing.
It arrived partly thawed. Is that OK?
Yes, as long as it is cold to the touch. Blade ships frozen in an insulated box and arrives anywhere from rock solid to fully thawed depending on how far it travelled. Put it straight into the freezer or the fridge when it lands: 14 days in the fridge, or the freezer until the best before date. If a box ever turns up warm, send us a photo and we will replace it, no return needed.
When do the 14 fridge days start?
From the day you move a Blade out of the freezer, not from the day it was made. Frozen, they keep until the best before date printed on the box. Thawed, keep them in the fridge and drink within 14 days. Nothing is counting down at you in the meantime: the clock starts when you decide it does.
What does shipping cost?
$8.00 flat anywhere in New Zealand, shipped frozen and overnight. Every 28-Blade box ships free. We dispatch Monday to Wednesday; order by midday and it goes on the next available run. Once you are on a subscription you move onto our loyalty tier, where shipping is free at any size, so the $8.00 is a first-order cost rather than a recurring one.
Core or Pro Series?
Same drink. Same 18 g of protein, same 6 mg of iron. Pro Series is the batch-tested version: every batch screened for 200+ prohibited substances with HASTA, with a certificate you can put in front of your federation. If your sport tests you, take Pro. If it does not, Core is the same thing for $3 less a box.
Does it contain allergens?
Blade contains sulphites (a declared allergen) and is vegan. It is not marketed as allergen-free. Full ingredient list on every pack and on the product page.
Can I pause my subscription?
Yes, and without emailing anyone. Skip a delivery, change the size, push the next date out or cancel entirely from your account. Freezers fill up and seasons end. We would much rather you paused than quit.
Do you ship to Australia?
Not yet. Join the Australia waitlist and you move it up the priority list: 300+ of you asked last quarter.
