Leaft started with a question on a New Zealand farm: what if the protein was already in the field, and the animal was optional? Years of agricultural science later, we can press rubisco out of alfalfa at food scale. Nobody else can.
Blade is the first product of that work: a frozen, leaf-shaped 100 ml pouch, filled minutes from the field it grew in.

It freezes flat, rides in a jersey pocket or a lunchbox, and thaws to ready over a session. The shape is the brand: never squashed, never restyled, never substituted.


Grown, not manufactured
A protein that feeds the soil it grows in.
Alfalfa fixes its own nitrogen, so the crop puts fertility back into the soil instead of drawing it down. We harvest the leaf, press out the protein, and the story does not end there.
Nitrogen-fixing
The crop pulls nitrogen from the air and returns it to the ground, so each cut leaves the soil richer than it found it. Regenerative by default, not by offset.
Closed loop
We use the protein; the leftover leaf fibre becomes livestock feed rather than waste. One crop, nothing sent to landfill.
Lower footprint
About five times more protein per hectare than dairy on the same land, at a fraction of the methane and water. Our own estimate, based on leaf yield against milk-protein yield per hectare; independent LCA underway. *
